A Sailor’s Dream is a vivid exploration of the deep connection between sailors and the sea, capturing the exhilarating freedom and timeless allure of life on the water. How was it created?

The artwork begins with a collage of a selection of images which I carefully compile digitally to establish the theme, composition, and colour palette. Once the concept is refined, I commence painting in acrylic, focusing initially on the intricate details. After these areas have dried, I adopt a more expressive approach, utilising palette knives and larger brushes to develop the abstract elements. Once the painting has dried, I mask off key areas and, with a wide brush loaded with oil paint, apply a decisive central stroke. This final step is a critical moment in the process, requiring precision and confidence, as any mistake could compromise the entire piece.
