The Moth and Ever Wrest is the second painting in my Armchair Wanderlust series, inspired by the story The Moth and the Mountain by Ed Caesar. This haunting true story follows Maurice Wilson, a British soldier and dreamer who set out to climb Everest alone, armed with little more than blind faith and sheer determination. With no mountaineering or flying experience, his quest was as doomed as it was courageous - a tale of obsession, isolation, and the tragic pursuit of the impossible.

This painting reflects the fragility of his dream, the vast indifference of the mountain, and the heartbreaking beauty of a man who dared to reach for the sky.
