Every day, a man and his dog return to the same jetty, playing the same simple game, he throws the ball, and the dog launches himself joyfully into the water to fetch it, as if it were the very first time. I witnessed this ritual while on holiday in Lyme Regis and felt compelled to capture the sheer delight of that moment. Painted with a palette knife, the piece is full of movement and texture, reflecting both the energy of the dog and the ease with which the scene came together. It was a joy to paint, a celebration of loyalty, routine, and the happiness found in the everyday.
