Elephant Rocks in Australia is a striking natural formation, like a serene herd of elephants wading through the turquoise waters of the Great Southern Ocean. We stood at the edge of the sea, mesmerised by the view, completely unaware of the thunderstorm building behind us. Within moments, the sky turned dark and wild, and we ran, laughing and soaked to the skin, as the storm swept in faster than we could escape. The Storm captures the drama and beauty of that moment, the contrast between awe and chaos, stillness and sudden movement, a memory I had to immortalise in paint.
