A ghostly landscape unfolds in Toxic Waste, its washed-out grey tones echoing the eerie silence left in the wake of industrial pollution. A faint factory looms in the background, its presence almost forgotten, yet its impact lingers. The girl’s pale white skin is stark against the toxic yellow of her lips - an unsettling contrast, a warning sign.

Her oversized goggles reflect two opposing worlds. One lens captures a poisoned river, where a chemical drum drifts aimlessly, and lifeless fish float on the surface, victims of contamination. In the other, hope emerges: a tranquil lake bathed in the warm hues of sunset, a glimpse of what could be if we choose to repair what has been lost.

Every detail tells a story. An Egret, a symbol of resilience, perches within her hair, a fragile guardian of waterways. A frying pan earring, adorned with silver foil and a fried egg, alludes to the silent dangers of PFOA - the chemical once used in non-stick coatings, now infamous for its toxic legacy. Around her neck, a tattoo of its chemical compound etches a lasting mark, while a silver C8 necklace glints like a scar of industry’s past.

Toxic Waste serves as both a reckoning and a vision - one that forces us to confront the damage we have done yet reminds us that restoration is still within reach.
